FanDuel daily fantasy scoring has changed a bit since 2015 so if you’re still setting lineups based on last year’s stats, you will need to make adjustment today. Let’s take a look at the new schedule so you can make sure you are up to speed as you set your lineups during the 2016 NFL season. NFL DFS for Championship Weekend, 2021: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks, stacks SportsLine's Mike McClure, a DFS pro with almost $2M in winnings, gives optimal lineup advice.

  • The MVP receives a 1.5X point multiplier on their fantasy point total, meaning if they score 20 FanDuel points, they’ll receive a 30 point score at the MPV position and 20 in FLEX.
  • A quarterback who throws three touchdowns and three interceptions is okay on FanDuel, where on another site almost half of those touchdowns are wiped out given the negatives. Punt return and kickoff return touchdowns for players that are also RB or WR apply like they do in the NFL scoring.
  • Metcalf went for 108 yards and a touchdown. The Bills have been allowing points the past few weeks, and with Josh Allen feeling it again, it could be another high-scoring matchup.

With a nice split in the schedule, Fanduel lineups can be great this week.

The NFL finally gave the football-watching public what they want. The league gave us a pretty even split between games at 1 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. There are five games in the early slate and six games in the late-afternoon time slot. This is exactly how it should be, and it keeps fantasy players engaged for six straight hours of football.

This week's Fanduel slate is interesting beyond that. There are some really fun matchups that could be extremely high scoring (Los Angeles Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins is circled on this list). Some hard decisions come with star players taking on just terrible defenses, making it hard to tell if they will be sitting by halftime (Davante Adams vs. JAX, Alvin Kamara vs. SF, and Miles Sanders vs. NYG are just a few that come up).

This season, the star players have dominated when they have been healthy. It actually isn't something as consistent as it sounds. Adams was once again dominant when he was healthy enough to play. Christian McCaffrey returned from injury to absolutely torch the Chiefs, but now it looks like he could be out again. Three of the top five most expensive running backs could miss the game with injuries.

This week has a lot of pitfalls, especially at the running back position. There aren't a lot of stars on the slate, so make sure to think long and hard about those 'value bets' because they could easily be the difference between making money and being left out.

Quarterback: Tua Tagovailoa $6,800

Scroll down the quarterback prices, and it might surprise you where Tua Tagovailoa falls. Some of the quarterbacks more expensive than Tua is less expensive than Gardner Minshew, Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, and Drew Lock.

Usually, the advice is to go for a sure thing at the quarterback position, but this might be the best value on the entire board. Tagovailoa could get 30 points this week, and he's coming in more than $2,000 less than the most expensive options on the list.

Tagovailoa is facing Justin Herbert, who has been one of the darlings of the NFL this season. After a disastrous start to his NFL career, Tua was phenomenal last weekend.

This was after preposterous reports the Dolphins could use one of the Texans draft picks to take another quarterback at next year's NFL Draft and this was a showcasing for other teams. Instead, Tagovailoa went one v. one against another young stud in Kyler Murray and won the game.

Not only will Tagovailoa have extra motivation because he's facing Herbert, but the Chargers have a dreadful pass defense. They allowed a few big plays to Derek Carr and the Raiders on the way to yet another disappointing loss last week.

The Chargers watched Drew Lock throw for 248 yards and three touchdowns. Tom Brady turned back the clock and threw for five touchdowns against the Chargers. This pass defense allows points.

Tua has a chance to be the steal of the week. At $6,800, only players like Jake Luton and Nick Mullens are cheaper. It's a money-saving move that allows players to spend big on other positions.

Other Options: Kyler Murray $8,800, Ben Roethlisberger $7,400

Running Back: Aaron Jones $8,800

The Green Bay Packers offense has been singing this season, led by it's stars' Adams has been the best receiver in the game. Aaron Rodgers is shooting for another MVP award.

Aaron Jones, who is the second-most expensive running back of the week, hasn't been as productive as his teammates. However, this week he faces a meaty matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jags have allowed the second-most points on defense this season. Teams are running for 138 yards per game against Jacksonville, which is a good sign for Jones. The hope here is the Packers go out to an early lead against a team that's hope lies on Jake Luton and then Jones can control the game from there.

Jones has the ability to score insane amounts on any given Sunday. He did it earlier this season when he had 41 Fanduel points against Detroit. He likes to take off against bad defenses.

The Jaguars are one of those bad defenses that could allow Jones to score 25-30 points. He hasn't shown much of that flash, but he seems to really take off around this time in the season. Last year, during this same week, he had three touchdowns against the Panthers. Hopefully, this looks like that.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (30): (Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports)

Running Back: James Robinson $7,300

The only players with more points per game than James Robinson at the running back position this week? Jones and Kimara, the two most expensive options (outside of McCaffrey, who's probably out).

The Jaguars have been largely ignored for more of the season, and for good reason, but Robinson has been the one positive for fantasy players both daily and season long. Robinson is usually good for between 12 and 30 points every week. It's a wide margin, yes, but the second running back could plummet in some situations, and that's not expected to happen here.

There's a possibility the Packers could go all out to stop the run, but after Luton played so well last week, that might be a mistake. If Luton hits the Packers over the top just once, it would force them to take a step back, and that could open up room for Robinson to make plays.

The Packers have been allowing a ton of points to running backs this season. It doesn't help when they played Dalvin Cook twice (he has five touchdowns against the Packers alone), but even players like Todd Gurley and Ronald Jones had huge days against the Packers.

Robinson is the key to the Jaguars offense, and even when they are down the coaching staff still calls on him. He can make a few catches out of the backfield, which helps his production on a weekly basis. He's a smart play for the price.

Other Options: Miles Sanders $7,700, Josh Jacobs $7,500

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Deandre Hopkins (10): (Billy Hardiman-USA TODAY Sports)

Wide Receiver: DeAndre Hopkins $8,600

Going with the most expensive option works sometimes. It worked last week with Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffrey, and this week it could work with DeAndre Hopkins. The Arizona Cardinals star didn't dominate despite a 31-point performance on offense, putting up only 4 points against the Dolphins last week. The Bills have been allowing more points as of late to wide receivers.

Fanduel Basketball Scoring

Last week, D.K. Metcalf went for 108 yards and a touchdown. The Bills have been allowing points the past few weeks, and with Josh Allen feeling it again, it could be another high-scoring matchup. With Allen and Murray looking to get ahead, they will look at their number-one option. For the Bills, that will be Stefon Diggs, who is another good option here. For the Cardinals, it's going to be Hopkins.

This could be one of his best games of the season. The Bills aren't that bad in their secondary, but Hopkins is due for another huge output. He's literally had 100-yard games every other week. Since he didn't get it last week, he should theoretically get it this week. Obviously, that part isn't an exact science, but putting Hopkins in the lineup is going to work out more often than not. Expect another big score this week.

Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin (17): (Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports)

Wide Receiver: Terry McLaurin $7,000

There are very few wide receivers who can produce no matter who the quarterback is, but Terry McLaurin seems to be that player. Kyle Allen got hurt for the Washington Football Team, and Alex Smith came in during the game. McLaurin was still able to get over 100 yards.

This week, Washington takes on the Detroit Lions. They might not have allowed a lot of points to wide receivers this past week, but they were busy getting destroyed by Dalvin Cook to even have time to allow passes to the wide receivers. Kirk Cousins still had three touchdowns, so it wasn't like they allowed no points through the air.

The Washington Football Team doesn't have the same amount of weapons, so they will focus on getting the ball to McLaurin and their talented group of running backs. McLaurin has been wildly consistent this season, getting more than 10 points in Fanduel in every matchup except two. He has three games with at least 18 points, including the last two. He's hot right now, and players need to play the hot hand.

Touchdowns

Even if Alex Smith is atrocious, he is a veteran and knows how to look for his top receiver. He might even throw it up a couple of times in traffic, hoping McLaurin can come down with it. As a team, it's not a great situation for Washington. As fantasy players, Smith doesn't hurt McLaurin's value that much.

Other Options: DK Metcalf $8,300, Stefon Diggs $7,900

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel (10): (Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports)

Wide Receiver: Curtis Samuel $5,700

Sometimes, it just makes sense to follow the trends. Curtis Samuel has been on fire the past three weeks, and is quickly become a favorite of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. He has totals of 14, 19, and 22 points over the past three games.

This past week, he posted a career high in yards and catches. He was targeted nine times, and he caught all of them. He's been extremely efficient, catching 38 of his 43 targets this season.

Samuel is part of a trio of Panthers receivers that have all been contributing this season. With D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson, each week the Panthers seem to have plenty of targets to go around.

Add in the Mike Davis/Christian McCaffrey additions to the passing offense, and it seems like Bridgewater has plenty of places to go. In a normal offense, this might be a negative, but the Panthers seem to find a way to always get production out of all of them.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is going to come after Bridgewater, which actually won't be that big a problem. He seems to get the ball out quickly, relying on short passes over waiting for things to develop.

Samuel has been contributing, and the Bucs and Panthers could be in for a shootout. The Panthers players in general are a great value. That will come back up later.

Other Low-cost Options: Jerry Jeudy $5,800, Marquez Valdes-Scantling $5,500

Fanduel Live Scoring Down

Tight End: T.J. Hockenson $6,200

Tight end is a cesspool this week. Darren Waller is the most expensive tight end at just $7,000. It falls off from there. Waller has been too inconsistent to put that kind of money on him, but someone who has been consistent is former top-10 pick T.J. Hockenson. He scored for the fourth time in the past five games this past Sunday.

Hockenson is extremely touchdown dependent, which is scary, but most of these tight ends don't even have that kind of hope. Rob Gronkowski is the third most-expensive option, and he had less than one point on Sunday Night Football.

There are some intriguing options, like Evan Engram ($5,600) or Robert Tonyan ($5,700) if players want to save a couple hundred bucks. Still, Hockenson is very unlikely to put up a goose egg, and a lot of these other options are within that possibility.

The Washington Football Team allowed a touchdown to Engram last week. Mark Andrews had a big game against Washington with two touchdowns a few weeks ago. Washington is not awful against tight ends, but they have left them open in the red zone on multiple occasions.

If they do that just once against Detroit, Hockenson will make them pay and make fantasy players happy with the result.

Other Options: Evan Engram $5,600, Robert Tonyan $5,700

Carolina Panthers running back Mike Davis (28): (Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports)

FLEX Option: Mike Davis $5,400

Yes, it's time to ride this train again. Mike Davis turned into a pumpkin after averaging more than 20 points per game in the three games after McCaffrey got hurt. Then, over the past four games, he's averaging around seven points.

With McCaffrey hurt again, and the Panthers facing a stout Bucs rush defense, it would make a lot of sense to keep CMC out for this week at the very least. Since Davis, like McCaffrey, doesn't rely on rushing alone, he can survive the Bucs matchup.

Davis could theoretically get six to ten receptions in this game. Bridgewater will be under pressure a lot, and he will need his outlets. Davis was his favorite for a while, and he could go back to that well now that he's his best running back option.

This is a straight-up value pick, but one caveat, if CMC is playing, this is a no go. Davis' entire value pegs on a high volume of targets. If McCaffrey is taking the bulk of those, even with his injured shoulder, then Davis could end up with nothing. That's not worth it for your lineup. Davis could be awesome for the lineup, but only with the opportunity to be the starter. He's had virtually no value as a backup.

Other Low-cost Option: Wayne Gallman Jr. $5,700, Jerick McKinnon $5,500

Defense: New York Giants $3,900

Defense is another interesting bag this week. There aren't a lot of really good options, and the high-upside options also come with a lot of downside.

Take the New York Giants. This isn't a terrible defense, per se, but as a team overall, things can go very badly. They've only gone in the negative once, thanks to a 36-point assault at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Beyond that, they've averaged between 4 and 12 points in every other contest. It's not really confidence boosting.

It is, however, safe. With a lineup like this with so many stars, it is the best-possible scenario to just go with a safe choice, even if it means a 20-point performance is off the table.

The Giants are facing their rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. This is always an interesting matchup that, no matter the talent level of the two participants, it seems to be a close matchup. The Eagles have struggled to score with a lack of offensive options to go alongside Carson Wentz.

Fanduel Nfl Scoring

The reason this is a matchup players should be interested in is that offensive line of the Eagles. Wentz has been sacked more than any other quarterback in the league (32 times). He's also thrown at least one interception in every game except one. It's probable he turns the ball over against the Giants.

Fanduel Not Showing Scores

If they could take it back for a touchdown, it could be the icing on the cake of a big day at the office.
