New Verizon FIOS gigabyte routers (G3100) in particular do not work with GeoComply under the router’s factory settings.

Yes, the Los Angeles Dodgers were just crowned World Series champs on Oct. 27.

Call it the Hot Stove League, NJ sports betting-style. So there is no need for DraftKings Sportsbookcustomers to wait until April 1, 2021, to check out the Philadelphia Phillies odds.

The team hit the middle of the pack at +3000, or 30-1 at DraftKings, to win the World Series.

The New York Mets, who are under new ownership, opened at +3300 and are now +2200.

Then there are the New York Yankees, who lost to the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League divisional round. They opened at +525 and are now +550.

FanDuel Sportsbook + NL futures

FanDuel Sportsbook has also posted the National League championship odds.

No surprise, the defending champion Dodgers are the favorites at +200. The Atlanta Braves (+400) are next, followed by the San Diego Padres (+450).

Believe it or not, the Mets are getting some love at +1100.

Here is a look at how some of the other teams stack up, including the Phillies:

  • Reds +1400
  • Cubs +1500
  • Nationals +1500
  • Phillies +2000
  • Cardinals +2100
  • Brewers +2200

A closer look at what the Phillies need

Both teams suffered through mediocre 60-game seasons and failed to reach the playoffs. Both franchises also went under on the projected-win-total props of 31.

The Phillies wasted their second year of the Bryce Harper era, blowing a barrage of eighth- and ninth-inning leads, finishing 28-32. But they teased gamblers, working themselves into playoff range in the final week. Remember, they peaked above .500 before taking a 1-6 tailspin to close out the season.

The shame of it all is other moves worked out.

Signing Zack Wheeler, who finished with a 2.92 ERA, was a nice move. And Aaron Nola (3.28 ERA, 12.1 K/9) and Zach Eflin (3.97 ERA, 10.7 K/9) pitched well enough to give the Phillies three above-average starters.

Trevor Bauer, a Cy Young Award candidate, is a free agent, but he is known for being outspoken. Pitching for the Reds, who didn’t make the playoffs, he finished with a 5-4 record and 1.73 ERA.

Then again, does it even matter who starts if Philadelphia can’t improve its bullpen? The 2020 version was like lighter fluid in yielding a 7.05 ERA.

In-game over bettors loved this and played to it, but the team suffered.

The 2011 season is the last time the Phillies made the playoffs. The franchise often appears to have the right talent mix and has spent roughly $700 million on free-agent signings over the last three years.

Given the bullpen problems, closer Liam Hendricks, who has enjoyed two strong seasons with the Oakland A’s, is a logical target. Will it pan out?

The Phillies were burned by the injury to David Robertson, whom they acquired to be a lights-out relief specialist when they signed Harper. Good front-office decision, bad luck.

However, there is some good November news for the Phillies. Alec Bohm is one of three NL Rookie of the Year finalists.

After making his highly anticipated MLB debut on Aug. 13, Bohm, who was the third overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, hit .338 with four homers, 11 doubles, and 23 RBIs in just 44 games.

Will the Mets go on a shopping spree?

As for the Mets, who went 26-34 last season, they have been purchased for $2.4 billion by Steve Cohen, who must have hit some nice sports-betting props to come up with that kind of money. He rehired former general manager Sandy Alderson as head of baseball operations, and general manager Brodie Van Wagenen will be on the hot seat.

Free-agent signings Rick Porcello and Michael Wacha did not work for the Mets.

There is no prop regarding whether the underachieving Wagenen will be fired, but there is the fun of off-season speculation.

Yankees among the favorites

The Los Angeles Dodgers, fittingly upon the completion of their first World Series title in 32 years, lead the pack. They were +425 at DraftKings as of this morning.

The Yankees are second at +550.

With the addition of star pitcher Gerrit Cole and their abundance of star power, the Yankees again face high expectations. But the World Series parade forecast by New York media did not happen for them this year

But there are high expectations once again. FanDuel has New York as the early favorites to win the American League at +280. The Chicago White Sox and Rays are next, both at +600. The Houston Astros, who lost in the ALCS to Tampa Bay, come in at +900.

Other World Series contenders to watch

Of course, it’s still very early for the World Series market. Keep in mind, the odds are going to shift during the offseason. There are trades and free-agent signings still to be done.

But based on the early futures, there are a few other teams that might attract action.

The Braves, who made the Dodgers come back from a 3-1 series deficit to win the National League pennant, are a well-placed +1000, or 10-1, at DraftKings.

Tampa Bay is a good value at +1200.

The Padres, much improved over previous years, are +1300.

The Astros, who may have peaked with their core of solid players, are +1800.

Looking ahead to MLB opening day 2021

The next big date for the MLB betting crowd is April 1, 2021.

The Phillies will be hosting the Braves at Citizens Bank Park. The Mets will visit the Nationals, and the Yankees will host the Toronto Blue Jays.

The season may be several months away, but for those who want to wager futures, it’s already opening day.
